A Viñedo Valley RomanceWhen Tierney Diaz grudgingly accompanies her best friend to Oregon’s lush Willamette Valley wine country, all she wants is peace, quiet, and a coffee shop in which to work in solitude. She has her reasons for not being a drinker and not wanting to be around drinkers, and frankly, she’s not looking for a woman, either. But she can’t help but notice the captivating local woman who sweeps into the café like a warm breeze after a rainstorm, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces before, apparently, bustling down the street to…teach a yoga class? Huh. Well, if she has to crush on someone, at least it’s not one of the wine-mongers.Beck Montalvo has always had good instincts. The youngest of four daughters born into a Napa wine empire, she started her own businesses—Beckon, a small, artisan winery focused on people, not the bottom line; and Breathe, the adjacent yoga studio where she connects to her community and herself. With crush in full swing and the yoga studio thriving, Beck doesn’t have time for romance…or mysteries. But when she sees the beautiful stranger in the coffee shop, her instincts tell her the cautious-eyed woman is the perfect candidate for some mind-clearing yoga and a glass of Beck’s best vintage—if she can break through her walls. The stranger’s a tough case, but Beck’s never backed down from a challenge yet… Fourth in the Amigas y Amor Series

Stay Healthy; Reduce Stress

Let’s face it, every one of us must have experienced those moments where you wish to stay in bed all day and not doing anything. There is no denial that every human being has suffered some setbacks in their life. The only way that may help reduce stress is managing stress as and when required. Below are some useful tips that may help you reduce stress:

1.    Chill
-    At the time of extreme pressure, avoid thinking much over the issue that adds to your stress. Divert your thinking from worst to best. Meditation, yoga, listening to music or even a brief nap can help you put your mind to ease.

2.    Simple life is best

-    A simple life helps you maintain balance. You can simplify your living by prioritizing your roles and responsibilities according to need.  Do not make your life complicated by being greedy – finish your work one at a time.

3.    Exercise can help reduce stress

-    Yes, no matter how lazy most of us are, we have to admit that lack of exercise can result you in many problems both for your health and stress level. So take at least 15 minutes of your time to take a brisk walk around the neighbourhood, take some fresh air and let your body move.

4.    Sleep well
-    It is at an upmost importance to have a good sleep if you want to stay healthy. Your body will be weak if lack amount of sleep or oversleeping is practised constantly. Therefore, it’s your responsibility towards self to take a sound sleep on a daily basis to avoid stress in your life.

5.    Eat well

-    Indulge yourself with healthy foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables every day. A healthy diet includes fresh fruits, green vegetables, protein rich pulses, fresh meat and sea food that can help you boost up your energy level and feel active for whole day. Avoid going to the coffee shop or fast food restaurants every morning. Drink plain water, always! There are variety of anti-stress products available on internet. You can have the opportunity to buy them online as they are available through a proper channel wherein you have to first contact their order taking staff in order to get these effective products.

Always take advice of professionals who are skilled and can counsel you at the time of stress. Various virtual assistant services can help you reduce your stress level by taking your responsibilities and managing your work efficiently. Also they can provide effective counselling service during stress time.

Comment on Denver task force addresses fresh-food deserts (Denver Post)

It’s a decent trip on a bike from my apartment to the Unsafeway, but the
closest Whole Foods is in Cap Hill and the Sunflower is out in Highland.
Safeway has decent selections but it’s generally much more expensive than
Sunflower and even Whole Foods in some categories.

There’s also Dean’s Urban Market on Park Ave and Walnut, but the selection
isn’t that great and it’s rather expensive. Its only saving grace is that I
can walk to it.

I’m seriously considering opening a chain of smaller, healthier convenience
stores. Offer local produce when feasible. Participate in community programs
that help those in need, staff it with people from the neighborhood. Maybe
even take Denver Dough and Dwolla alongside cash, cards, and checks. I mean,
there’s a yoga studio and coffee shop every other block, why not a more
“alternative” convenience store?

Interesting summary from a Dutch report showing younger folk don’t really care
about healthy/sustainable foods, but not for the reasons you might think:

Diet plays an incredibly important role. Behavior, mood, overall health…if
