How To Remove Stains From Men’s Suits
Have you ever wished you live in “The Matrix” world? Every time a dirt is about coming close to your suit, time would slow down and you can easily move out of the way. It would be just like when Keanu Reeves dodged those bullets, or at least almost like that. Unfortunately, unless there are some drastic changes made in the world or you star in your own hit action movie, this is not going to happen. So the next best thing is knowing how to get rid of the stains once they occur.
Suits- Removing Common Stains
Whether you are at the office, driving home from work, or attending an important business dinner, there is always a chance you will spill something on your suit. The following tips will obviously help you to keep your suit clean after stains and dirt.
- Coffee- You may have decided to stop by the coffee shop to buy a few cups of coffee before you head over for work. What if you hit a pot hole on the way and the coffee spills on your cloth. What are you going to do? You are supposed to attend a meeting this morning and it will be a total joke with the brown smudge on your chest. If you want to make it to your meeting in the same shirt, you must act immediately. You can dab the stain with cold water socked in a clean cloth. You may see that the stain is removed almost immediately. If the cold water didn’t work, use club soda or 7UP instead. If you have a little more time, pre-treat the stain with bleach or peroxide and then wash it normally. If the clothing is coloured, do not use peroxide and make sure you stick to colour-safe bleach in order to avoid discolouration.
- Deodorant- You may have noticed that it is not every deodorant goes out clearly. In most cases, you may be in a hurry to get dressed and didn’t wait for the deodorant to get dried. To effectively remove stains caused by deodorants, sock the cloth in a white vinegar for about an hour. After the half hour, you can then wash the cloth with detergents containing enzyme. Make sure to check the shirt’s washing instructions so you don’t wash it in water that is too warm for it.
- Quality Suits- Blood- Although blood is most likely the most unexpected type of stain you may experience while wearing a suit, this does not mean you won’t have to ever deal with it. Your office may be full of small hidden dangers. You could get a paper cut, scrape your thigh on the corner of your desk, or prick your finger with your letter opener. If blood will ever get on your shirt, it is necessary that you know how you can get it out. If the blood stain is fresh, apply ammonia and leave for about 20 minutes. If the stain has been there for a while, use a mixture of warm water and meat tenderizer. The following, remove the stain by using a mixture of ammonia and water. Then continue to wash the shirt in the normal way.
- Sauce- You were enjoying a juicy burger, a medium-rare steak, or hot dog with the works, and the unexpected happened. You then found the steak on your shirt instead of your mouth. What is it you are going to do? Pre-treat it with colour-safe bleach and wash the suit or shirt in warm water. If the stain still hasn’t disappeared, use a stain remover and wash it again.
Stains can happen at any time when you are wearing your suits. It is therefore important that you know how to remove stains so you don’t have to end up purchasing new suits every time you spill something. Timeless Suits
