Does the new MacBook come with wireless internet setup?
I just purchased a new Macbook and I am wondering if I will need to buy a wireless internet card of some sort or if I will be able to connect to a wireless network automatically. Any help would be appreciated.
Also if anyone knows how to acess a wireless connection in a public place like a coffee shop and can give me some advice that would be helpful as well.
Initially, for internet service at your home, you’ll need to purchase an internet access package. If you purchase a broadband package (ie, High-Speed Cable Internet or DSL ), you’ll need to obtain a wireless internet router to use the wireless features of your Macbook – but it has both wifi ( wireless network access ) and bluetooth (wireless device – think phone or PDA ) already.
If you turn your Macbook on in a place with a wireless network accessible – like a coffee shop or airport – it will prompt you to join a wireless network. Some require that you purchase access, some are free. Usually a public place like a coffee shop that offers free wifi access will create a wifi network with the same name as the business. If you attempt to join and it asks you for a password, it’s probably not free.

How To Improve For The New Year
The New Year is almost upon us. Many of us are going to look at things we can do better. Promises to do certain things differently are common. One of the most common for women is to get healthier. For many females, there are some ideas for a way to get healthier that should be included on their lists.
Consider the health of your bones.
Improving bone health might not have the panache of dropping thirty pounds, but it can be crucial for woman of all ages to do. It is very important to watch calcium in your diet even as a young child or teen If you do not want to deal with bone issues later, you need to address it when you are young.
A proper diet is necessary to help prevent osteoporosis and a woman should get at least three servings of dairy a day through healthy sources of dairy that include skim milk, low-fat cheeses, and yogurt or calcium supplements can taken that also help women meet their recommended daily intake, but a person should be careful about diet plants that promise to show a person six pack ab exercises-.
Including plenty of vitamin d is very important for a person wanting to help their bone strength. This can be done by adding dairy products to your diet.
Be aware that certain foods and medications may help weaken bones. Avoiding carbonated beverages which many people use in place of healthier drinks can cause a person to struggle with skeletal issues. There is also a link between bone loss and the use of cigarettes in ladies who use them.
Put your needs at the forefront.
Women are well-known caretakers and jugglers of several tasks at once and with responsibilities concerning home, work, and children, there just aren’t enough hours to do all that needs done so women neglect their own health or try to find ways that teach them lose weight fast but the result is that many women feel frazzled, frustrated, and forlorn.
Females are more likely to be concerned with how other people are doing and what they need rather than thinking about what they need and what they should be doing. When are they going to have time for the things that they need. It is possible if they want it to happen. It can lead to very stressful situations when a person ignores it. The list of negative consequences goes on and on. That does not have to be the case for all women. A woman does not have to accept the way that it is.
Do not try to tackle everything at one time, rather break it down into smaller more manageable portions. The best way to accomplish these goals is by starting with an easy objective, and then moving on to another small goal rather than undertaking too much at one time such as starting a plan that will show them how to lose weight fast or by trying to go to the gym for two or three hours every day. When you finish a task, enjoy what you have been able to do. Do not stress if you are unable to do everything that you wanted, there will be another day to do it.
Include things that are for you when you are making up your list of things that you want to accomplish. The ideas vary with individual tastes, but some women have found doing simple things, such as walking to be highly enjoyable and relaxing.
So this new year, think of what’s important to you, make your resolutions, and vow to make this the beginning of a happier, healthier you.
Easy ways to setup wi-fi at home
Simple way to setup a wifi connection in home.
Introduction About Wifi.
If you’ve been in an airport, coffee shop, library or hotel recently, chances are you’ve been right in the middle of a wireless network. Many people also use wireless networking, also called WiFi or 802.11 networking, to connect their computers at home, and some cities are trying to use the technology to provide free or low-cost Internet access to residents. In the near future, wireless networking may become so widespread that you can access the Internet just about anywhere at any time, without using wires.
WiFi has a lot of advantages. Wireless networks are easy to set up and inexpensive. They’re also unobtrusive — unless you’re on the lookout for a place to use your laptop, you may not even notice when you’re in a hotspot. In this article, we’ll look at the technology that allows information to travel over the air. We’ll also review what it takes to create a wireless network in your home.
What is wifi?
A wireless network uses radio waves, just like cell phones, televisions and radios do. In fact, communication across a wireless network is a lot like two-way radio communication. Here’s what happens: A computer’s wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits it using an antenna.
A wireless router receives the signal and decodes it. The router sends the information to the Internet using a physical, wired Ethernet connection. The process also works in reverse, with the router receiving information from the Internet, translating it into a radio signal and sending it to the computer’s wireless adapter. The radios used for WiFi communication are very similar to the radios used for walkie-talkies, cell phones and other devices. They can transmit and receive radio waves, and they can convert 1s and 0s into radio waves and convert the radio waves back into 1s and 0s. But WiFi radios have a few notable differences from other radios:
They transmit at frequencies of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. This frequency is considerably higher than the frequencies used for cell phones, walkie-talkies and televisions. The higher frequency allows the signal to carry more data.
They use 802.11 networking standards, which come in several flavors: 802.11a transmits at 5 GHz and can move up to 54 megabits of data per second. It also uses orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing a more efficient coding technique that splits that radio signal into several sub-signals before they reach a receiver. This greatly reduces interference.
802.11b is the slowest and least expensive standard. For a while, its cost made it popular, but now it’s becoming less common as faster standards become less expensive. 802.11b transmits in the 2.4 GHz frequency band of the radio spectrum. It can handle up to 11 megabits of data per second, and it uses complementary code keying (CCK) modulation to improve speeds.
802.11g transmits at 2.4 GHz like 802.11b, but it’s a lot faster — it can handle up to 54 megabits of data per second. 802.11g is faster because it uses the same OFDM coding as 802.11a.
802.11n is the newest standard that is widely available. This standard significantly improves speed and range. For instance, although 802.11g theoretically moves 54 megabits of data per second, it only achieves real-world speeds of about 24 megabits of data per second because of network congestion. 802.11n, however, reportedly can achieve speeds as high as 140 megabits per second. The standard is currently in draft form — the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) plans to formally ratify 802.11n by the end of 2009.
Other 802.11 standards focus on specific applications of wireless networks, like wide area networks (WANs) inside vehicles or technology that lets you move from one wireless network to another seamlessly.WiFi radios can transmit on any of three frequency bands. Or, they can “frequency hop” rapidly between the different bands. Frequency hopping helps reduce interference and lets multiple devices use the same wireless connection simultaneously.
Building a Wireless Network
How much you know about WiFi and what it does? Test your knowledge with our WiFi Quiz!If you already have several computers networked in your home, you can create a wireless network with a wireless access point. If you have several computers that are not networked, or if you want to replace your Ethernet network, you’ll need a wireless router. This is a single unit that contains:
A port to connect to your cable or DSL modem
A router
An Ethernet hub
A firewall
A wireless access point
A wireless router allows you to use wireless signals or Ethernet cables to connect your computers to one another, to a printer and to the Internet. Most routers provide coverage for about 100 feet(30.5 meters) in all directions, although walls and doors can block the signal. If your home is very large, you can buy inexpensive range extenders or repeaters to increase your router’s range As with wireless adapters, many routers can use more than one 802.11 standard. 802.11b routers are slightly less expensive, but because the standard is older, they’re slower than 802.11a, 802.11g and 802.11n routers. Most people select the 802.11g option for its speed and reliability.Once you plug in your router, it should start working at its default settings. Most routers let you use a Web interface to change your settings. You can select:
The name of the network, known as its service set identifier (SSID) — The default setting is usually the manufacturer’s name. The channel that the router uses — Most routers use channel 6 by default. If you live in an apartment and your neighbors are also using channel 6, you may experience interference. Switching to a different channel should eliminate the problem. Your router’s security options — Many routers use a standard, publicly available sign-on, so it’s a good idea to set your own username and password.
Security is an important part of a home wireless network, as well as public WiFi hotspots. If you set your router to create an open hotspot, anyone who has a wireless card will be able to use your signal. Most people would rather keep strangers out of their network, though. Doing so requires you to take a few security precautions. It’s also important to make sure your security precautions are current. The Wired Equivalency Privacy (WEP) security measure was once the standard for WAN security. The idea behind WEP was to create a wireless security platform that would make any wireless network as secure as a traditional wired network. But hackers discovered vulnerabilities in the WEP approach, and today it’s easy to find applications and programs that can compromise a WAN running WEP security.
To keep your network private, you can use one of the following methods:
WiFi Protected Access (WPA) is a step up from WEP and is now part of the 802.11i wireless network security protocol. It uses temporal key integrity protocol (TKIP) encryption. As with WEP, WPA security involves signing on with a password. Most public hotspots are either open or use WPA or 128-bit WEP technology, though some still use the vulnerable WEP approach.
Media Access Control (MAC) address filtering is a little different from WEP or WPA. It doesn’t use a password to authenticate users — it uses a computer’s physical hardware. Each computer has its own unique MAC address. MAC address filtering allows only machines with specific MAC addresses to access the network. You must specify which addresses are allowed when you set up your router. This method is very secure, but if you buy a new computer or if visitors to your home want to use your network, you’ll need to add the new machines’ MAC addresses to the list of approved addresses. The system isn’t foolproof. A clever hacker can spoof a MAC address — that is, copy a known MAC address to fool the network that the computer he or she is using belongs on the network.
Wireless networks are easy and inexpensive to set up, and most routers’ Web interfaces are virtually self-explanatory. For more information on setting up and using a wireless network

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Social Media Marketing Campaign
Unless you just blew-in from another planet, you know about social media marketing and the immense traffic numbers that Facebook and Twitter are receiving each month. Yes – you can transform your business very quickly only if you have the right information.
When you first begin getting exposure, remember that you will be working on your reputation all the time. If you just give your market what they are looking for, then that will be a winner no matter where you run your campaigns. If you value your accounts, and obviously you should, then just remember that methods such as sending out spam messages will be totally counter-productive.
As always, when you are developing relationships with your audience, it is extremely important that you do not basically ruin it with something like unwanted messages. The very last thing you want or need is for business-killing rumors circulating about the spammer, you, and what you do – if you ever do that sort of thing.
The oldest principle of business is exchanging or making good value available to your niche market. The web has become the social internet, and that will only continue to grow over the coming years. So you can contribute your part by adding good or poor value, and obviously the consequences will be appropriate.
Another thing that implies is you should totally avoid being cheap such as passing off bad PLR or something because it is easy and convenient. So that is yet one more thing that you have to be careful about and avoid at all costs. We do know some marketers do this, so this is your call but remember it is your business on the line.
Campaigns that aren’t different from the rest and are regular will go unnoticed, which is why you should inject a bit of innovation in each of your social media marketing campaign. Of course you have to use good sense because if your audience is made-up of medical professionals than you will not want to look totally unprofessional. You can be simple in your approach and at the same time be highly innovative. There’s a lot that you can gain from an innovative campaign, which is why you a part of your effort should go in this area. Even if you have tried social media marketing before with poor results, we suggest you troubleshoot what happened, learn some more and give it another shot.
