Scrubs, Season 6?
Scrubs is the only show since Seinfeld that I have watched religiously from the begining. However, is it me, or does Season 6 of Scrubs have a different feeling? They no longer use the cafeteria, they have a “coffee shop” instead, and there seem to be other subtle changes too. Every season of Scrubs has been fresh and wonderful to me. But this season seems different. What do you think it is??
i totally disagree, i think this season is really special new ideas “My Musical” and new topics are discussed “The war in Iraq”, stuff usually never seen in a sitcom, the characters life changing events are very realistic and their adaptation to them is an indication of maturity that even such goofy doctors should reach by now.

Fighting Depression In The Winter
Most people who live in a place with changing seasons experience some symptoms of depression in the winter time. There is a clinical condition called Seasonal Affective Disorder. This condition is diagnosed when the symptoms are extreme and interfere with the individual’s life. S. A. D. is believed to be caused by the absence of enough sunlight in the winter, and is often treated with light therapy.
Although many people do not experience the symptoms in a strong enough way to be diagnosed with S. A. D., most people do notice at least small changes in their mood during the winter months. An increased need for sleep and a lack of energy are often mentioned. The cold makes people want to curl up in their houses most of the time. In the winter, people crave foods that are warm and starchy. These foods tend be higher in fat and sugar, and contribute to our lethargy.
These factors combine and often cause people to feel a slight depression. They feel more isolated, and feel stuck in a rut. For this reason, it is helpful to find activities that will pull you out of your rut. Here are a few ways to fight winter depression.
Learn a New Hobby
Most people have a hobby or two that they’ve been planning to take up but have not yet gotten around to. Maybe there is an Alvarez acoustic guitar sitting in the corner of your room collecting dust. You bought it months ago, but haven’t taken the time to learn to play. Winter is a great opportunity for learning an instrument. Maybe you’ve always wanted to learn to knit. Winter is a wonderful time to knit scarves and send them to your friends and family.
Get Out Of the House
Simply leaving your house or apartment can completely change your mood. You could go see a movie, go out to dinner or brunch with a friend, or go shopping. You could make a day of searching for the perfect pair of leather brown boots, or just sit with someone for a few hours in a coffee shop. The simple act of leaving the house and changing your scenery can make things seem better and more promising.
Get Some Exercise
Exercise is one of the most useful tools in combating all types of depression. It releases endorphins, which are body chemicals that lift your mood. Although it is often too cold in the winter months to exercise outside, there are definitely some days where the temperature is mild enough for a brisk walk. You could also join a gym, or, if you have weight lifting equipment at home, begin a muscle workout routine.
Winter may seem dark, cold, and endless, but with a little bit of effort, you can definitely fight the ‘winter blahs.’ Distract yourself long enough with these activities, and suddenly, you will look up and it will be spring!
Giving Thanks for Small Businesses (Get Rich Slowly)
This post is from staff writer Sarah Gilbert. I celebrated Thanksgiving with
my family near the Oregon coast this past weekend, and spent nearly the whole
day Saturday in blissful cooking mode. It was lovely, but it’s a remote area
where the only nearby business is a gas station/convenience store on a highway
between Portland [...]
