Fun, Cheap activities for students in Seattle and surrounding areas.?

I will be visiting Seattle, Olympia and Walla walla this next week and I am looking for cheap and fun activities to do when there (funky coffee shops, pubs, galleries etc etc).

Pike Place Market is a must-do. There’s food of all different kinds, art, crafts, shops, produce, flowers, and street performers. Locals love to go there, too. Make sure you see the gum wall by Market Theatre – it’s rather unusual – and the original Starbucks. There are lots of good places to eat in the Market, sit-down restaurants as well as food stands. If you like quirky, there’s a Market ghost tour, too.

Walking along the waterfront, you’ll see Argosy Cruises, Seattle Aquarium (a nice one), and Ye Olde Curiousity Shoppe. Go in there just to see the weird and wacky things on display. Argosy Cruises has several cruises if you want to spend some time on the water. They have cruises of Elliott Bay and the Ballard Locks. The Locks is another good place to go that’s free. Watch the boats go through the locks and check out the fish ladder.

Fremont is the place to go for funky shops, pubs, and everything else. Check out the Fremont Troll who lives under the bridge, the rocket, free outdoor movies, etc.

A couple of street festivals that are happening this weekend are Taste of Edmonds and Auburn Good Ol’ Days Festival. Those are always fun.
