1001 Days Of Love $15 Poetry/Romance/AdventureDoes poetry really matter? Is it just something some of us enjoy that by and large one learns in high school to pass a test? Or at best one hopes to read aloud in a coffee shop?Or is it something that out of the escalating misery, fear, frustration and anger of our times can give us something of enduring reassurance and steel for mobilizing the greater heart and mind?”One should go down fighting for what over our run of more than 100,000 years for our species, and survival so far into the eighties for myself, has mattered most,” evolutionary systems scientist David Loye tells us in this intimate and passionate book. “That one thing above all,” he insists, “is love.”Emerging out of the turbulence of the 1980s, 90s, and early years of the 21st century, with lyric overtones of Wordsworth, Blake, Yeats and Whitman, here are poems Loye wrote to capture the love sustaining the romance and pioneering involvement in 20th and 21st century science and social action of evolutionary action theorist Riane Eisler and himself.Continuing the surprise of the poems scattered within their earlier joint biography 3,000 Years of Love, here we go further and deeper into their intimate lives. We go further behind the international best-seller The Chalice and the Blade and The Real Wealth of Nations into the drama of the holocaust survivor and thinker who has been called “The New Renaissance Woman” and “One of the most important visionaries of our time.”We go further behind the award-winning The Healing of a Nation, and recovery of “the rest and best” of Darwin’s theory of evolution in Loye’s new six-book Darwin Anniversary Cycle by a noted developer of the new field of evolutionary action science. It is a glimpse into the core of a revolution emerging within the hearts of millions of us worldwide-which must succeed if we are to move from global self destruction to planetary sanity during |

April: A Love Story $5.99 Some moments come along and your world–your life–changes. Something shifts inside and everything’s the same yet somehow different. Sometimes someone comes into your life and helps you to breathe for the first time, to think with clarity and to give you truth and joy. Often, we never see it coming. But it also happens when we need it the most and, usually, when we don’t realize we need it. For Joseph Bailey, life has come to a standstill; existence, living, call it what you will, have stopped moving, stopped flowing, stopped growing. Those he knew while growing up seemed to have gone down the right path, creating a so-called normal life. He’s not sure if he followed. Spending lonely nights writing comic book scripts and hazy afternoons watching cartoons brings him to his knees, and he needs something–maybe even someone–more. One Friday, while at a coffee shop working on a new comic script, Joseph is interrupted when a quirky girl with long black hair and smooth-as-marble gray eyes sits down across from him, seeking sanctuary from her controlling boyfriend, Dan. Her name is April. All seems under control even when Dan follows her in to the coffee shop, looking to patch things up. At least, that’s what was supposed to have happened. Once Dan leaves, Joseph figures his work is done and April will be on her way, never to be seen again. Instead, she stays, removes her sweater and orders an apple cider. Just then something slips inside Joseph, something good, right and pure. Their weekend begins. From a quiet night in an old railway car to seeking the undertones of humanity at the art gallery, to bringing to light the tender commonalities that we as humans share, April is a storyof how a simple chance meeting can hold you and protect you, and give you what the human heart is continuously after–Hope. |

Compassion: Cultivating a Good Heart $12 Do you practice extreme compassion? When a calamity strikes, you’re ready to organize, donate, volunteer. But there are quieter personal tragedies all around you every day. Whether it’s a faraway look in the eyes of a coworker, friend, family member or stranger at the next table in the coffee shop, burdens come in all sizes but weigh equally. Carrying each other’s burdens means being attuned to stressed intimates as well as suffering strangers. Sometimes, we all may be a little guilty of stepping over those we know and love to reach out as part of a big production to someone in trouble across the globe. And we should do that. But assume someone near you right now needs a little of your time, a bit of your spirit and your listening heart. “Compassion: Thoughts on Cultivating a Good Heart invites us to consider that our attention to the little things makes it easier to appreciate the concerns of our friends, families, communities and the world at large,” writes Wilson. “In doing so, we begin to conduct our lives with an ever-present spirit instead of saving such outpouring for tragic situations and natural disasters.” The essays in this powerful little book provide examples for doing just that – be it tending injured animals or bearing the burdens of another. Writers as varied as Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Wendy Wright and Robert Corin Morris urge that we appreciate the gift that compassion offers. You’ll be guided through several practical paths of enhancing your capacity to care. Remember: What goes around comes around. Think how grateful you’ll be when someone notices the lost, faraway look in your eyes one day. |

When you go to a coffee shop what are your pet hates?
We run a small coffee shop and would love to know what drives you mad when you visit one so that we can avoid doing the same.
Good question and it is about time someone did their research.
I always hated the fact the we had to lie to our customers about why the food was taking so long. i hated that we had to rush people. I hated the repetitious music. I hated the fact that the waitress around me where never trained properly and customers had to ask the same question again and again. And I hated the fact that some people NEVER paid attention to the details.
I hope that that sums up a lot of things.
At the end of the day you need to be the one walking through your shop and see what a customer can see.
Landon Pigg – Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop
How to Handle It When Your the One You Love Has Broken Your Heart
It’s to be expected that we might experience emotional turmoil when we break up. When your ex has just told you want to end it, it’s expected that you will feel injured, resentful and perhaps a little overwhelmed.
So what can you do? The first thing to do is take a clear look at the situation and decide if you really want your ex back. Sometimes it is best to a relationship end. If you decide let things end, allow yourself to grieve for the relationship and then look forward to having fun being single. Even if you feel you been seriously wronged, forget about trying to get revenge on your former lover. Revenge only means you are carrying hate in your heart have a ultimately hurt you at least is much as the other person.
But you decide this relationship really is in everyone’s best interest and especially if you think your behaviour has contributed to your relationship ending, it very often is possible to reconcile.
Let things settle down for a few days, then make contact in some low-key way. If it’s appropriate, send him or her a note ( a hand written note will get more attention than the e-mail that might get deleted before it’s even opened) apologizing and taken responsibility for any bad behaviour and reminding them of the good times you shared together. You can tell them that the relationship was very important to you, but don’t talk about getting back together in this first note.
If for some reason you don’t think writing a note or letter is appropriate you may want to take a look at the page How to Get Your Ex to Return Your Calls for suggestions on how to initiate phone contact after a breakup.
It’s very likely that you will get a positive response to your letter or call. The next step is to make arrangements to meet. Set it up for a fairly public place such as a coffee shop or a museum. Being in a public place will prevent your meeting turning into a shouting match. You should be prepared to discuss how you feel in a calm and levelheaded manner.
Keep the conversation to facts. If you find yourself trying to explain or your reactions, use the word I and not you. For example, you should say “When you danced with that other woman at the party, I reacted badly” instead of “You always make me feel jealous”. It’s much easier to listen to somebody explained how they feel and then to listen to them blaming you for something. And the fact is that how you respond to something is under your control
Allow them to criticise you as well. Listen with an open mind. We all have our faults and is very likely that you share some of the responsibility for the difficult your relationship is that.
It is very important that you listen actively. Don’t assume you know what they are trying to say. Encourage them to say what is on their mind. Think of this as an opportunity for you both to work through any issues in your relationship and come out of this a stronger couple.
Keep in mind that you’re not the first couple that’s hit rough patch in their relationship. It strikes me as rather odd that people try to handle something as dramatic as a breakup muddling through on their own, or perhaps talking with friends who don’t have any more experience than they do, instead of getting solid advice. I’ve found a couple of very effective resources you should definitely consider consulting.
One very effective system is called the Magic of Making Up. It teaches you a step-by-step approach to rebuilding a relationship after breakup. You can find details about this program at Magic of Making up Review.
The other relationship program that I can highly recommend is Second Chance Romance. Some people might consider it a little devious because it teaches you how to use powerful psychological triggers that could be manipulative if applied with ill intent. I don’t think most people would use it that way. You can find a review of this program at Second Chance Romance Review
Follow the advice in whichever those programs appeals to you, you may actually be appreciative of the breakup because it made your relationship so much stronger in the long run.
Coffee Shops Guide: Why Do We Love Them So Much?
Coffee, in general, might not be as simple as it sounds. You may think that coffee is just like any other kind of beverage, but this is not quite so. If you take the time to contemplate, you may see that coffee in itself is a whole world and a whole set of experiences. You may even see it as a social experience to an extent. You may be wondering by now why I have said those things, don’t worry as I will explain to you what I mean.
These days, people are so much addicted to coffee that they made it a part of their daily lives to drink at least one cup of coffee. There are even lots of coffee shops at many different places that will cater to your coffee craving any time you want! Anywhere you look, you will see a place dedicated for drinking coffee like on the mall or even on the corner of a street. With this said, why are we really in love with the concept of drinking coffee in a coffee shop? Here are some of the reasons why:
The first reason why people love coffee shops is the convenience they give them to drink coffee anytime! Because of these coffee shops, you will not need to brew your own coffee. You will not be burdened of keeping, roasting, grinding, and brewing your own green coffee beans as you can easily go to the nearest coffee shop whenever you want coffee. These coffee shops also tend to be close to different workplaces that it makes them a really convenient choice as a place to hang out.
The next reason why people like coffee shops is because they provide top quality social experience. Coffee shops can be used as a business meeting venue because of the quiet atmosphere that they provide. The coffee served can also make you more alert, which is very much needed when conducting vital conferences. These coffee shops can also be a place where you can meet friends and just talk about anything you like or catch up on things.
Another thing that people like about these coffeehouses is the comfort they can give. A café has a “homey” feel to it that can make a person relax. The aroma of the brewed coffee is also ecstatic that it can soothe your mind and ease your thoughts. Also, these coffee shops offer some snacks such as cakes and other pastries that you can enjoy while sipping your favorite cup of coffee.
Unique Gifts For Women: Show Mommy She Means a Lot to the Family
Who wouldn’t want to be like their mom? Cool and calm, she always has her wits about her even in the midst of complete chaos at home. This only goes to show that mom’s birthday should be a way to appreciate her for all that she does. Unique gifts for women are those that show you love and care for her more than she realizes.
Choosing a present for mom can be difficult because it’s hard to select something unique. Mothers, more often than not, seem to have everything and are quite happy with that. It’s all up to us to find a gift that she will love and cherish deeply each time she sees it.
Moms need to relax, there is no doubt about that. But as each day passes, there is hardly any time for her to do this. Gift her a silken pillow filled with lavender buds and flax seeds. This is a great combination to help mom soothe that stress away and relax, even if for a short time.
Every mom loves a good long bath. Present mom with set of bath minerals and some natural oils in soothing fragrances. What would be really thoughtful is if you take on some of her responsibilities at home and actually allow her to use the gifts to relax.
Add to this a manicure set or even a foot scrub kit and your mom will be a happy kitten. This is one secret everyone knows. The soft feel of pajamas against them are something every mom loves and if she has the time to lounge around in them, all the better. Buy mom some checked pajamas in a slightly stretchy and comfortable material.
Mothers love to cook and then watch their family eat up. Add to her cooking skills by getting her a session at a cookery class. Ask her, but discreetly about what she might want to learn in cooking or new techniques she has been wondering about. After she is done with her class you can gift her some utensils or other essentials to help her practice what she has learnt.
Moms love to get nostalgic about their family. For this one you will have to plan in advance as a photo book takes time to create. Find photos from when she was a child, during her courtship and wedding with dad, her children and arrange all of this in order along with comments from people who know and love her.
Mommies are always on the run and rarely take time out to do something nice for themselves. A good perfume is something she may not have used in a long time. Gift her one that has been customized for her and she will think of you each time she sprays it on. She will really appreciate this one.
Buying mom a gift should be a wonderful experience. A little understanding and some thoughtfulness will help you narrow down on a great gift for mother.
