people who live in Zimbabwe…please answer…?
We will be going to Zimbabwe in march for 3 months and are struggling with what to bring along. The topic of the moment is coffee, as funny as that sounds. My husband loves his coffee and is wondering how readily available real coffee (not instant) is there. I have heard that there is little on the shelves anymore in the stores over there b/c the old man is keeping the borders tight. Any insights would be appreciated on this and anything else you think will be helpful to know… Thx!
Thanks, Jay. Is there anything that you /can’t/ get there that it would be a good idea for us to pack? I know that’s a pretty general question, but since I haven’t been there yet…
dont worry we have plenty of coffee

Great Zimbabwe Hotel Masvingo: Tourist Information
Hotels in Zimbabwe offer visitors just about everything. Some hotels in Zimbabwe have swimming pools and restaurants that serve authentic African food. Straddling its own grounds and the World Heritage Site is the Great Zimbabwe Hotel and Lodges, with the lodges within the site and, therefore, the subject of preservation orders.
Only a short walk away from the Monument itself, the hotel has its own tradition – the African Sun tradition of a warm welcome and top quality products and service.
The swimming pool, tennis court and beach volleyball pitch are only a 2 minute walk from the majority of the rooms. The Sunset Bar is a favorite with locals and guests.
But it is the all pervasive sense of history, of being in a different time frame, most noticeable in the grounds of the monument but still felt in the luxury of the hotel, that strikes guests as unique. And the mystery surrounding the now deserted site, its total quiet and stillness, adds to the feeling of being part of an old but long gone civilization.
No stay in Zimbabwe is complete without a visit to the Great Zimbabwe Monument. African Sun is virtually on site, to make it all the more enjoyable, and all the more memorable.
ACCOMMODATION:
The Great Zimbabwe Hotel is made up of 38 neat rooms all with wall to wall carpeting. One significant feature of all the rooms at Great Zimbabwe Hotel is their spacious and roomy layout.
All rooms are decorated with quaint conservative furniture that gives them a modest and homely feel. There are a range of different room setups from single rooms designed for one person, double rooms with either twin beds or a double bed.
The standard rooms and single rooms overlook a lush garden courtyard with bright country flower beds, shrubs and creepers. These rooms are conveniently laid out in a half moon shape encasing the courtyard, giving the hotel the feel of an intimate family unit similar to the layout of the nearby Great Zimbabwe Monuments.
The deluxe suite, family suite and standard suites are located in separate nearby satellite buildings giving them an added sense of privacy. From selected rooms in the hotel guests have views of the grandeur age old Great Zimbabwe Monuments.
Each room is complimented with the following facilities:
* Digital Satellite Television
* Telephone
* Tea and coffee facilities
* Hairdryer (provided on request)
* Bathroom (shaving socket, toilet and bathtub)

The Tour d’Afrique is a legendary cycling event that runs from Cairo to Cape
Town on an annual basis. Covering more than 7500 miles, and requiring four
months to complete, the Tour is a popular “bucket list” item for adventure
travelers and cyclists the world over. This year, the Tour d’Afrique
commemorates its tenth anniversary, and to celebrate, the company behind the
epic event has released a fantastic coffee table book entitled _10:
Celebrating Ten Years of the Tour d’Afrique Bicycle Race and Expedition_.
The book begins with a forward written by Tour founder Henry Gold. A decade
ago, when he first pitched the idea of a bike ride across Africa, Gold was met
with skepticism to say the least. Many thought that it simply wasn’t possible
for an event like this one to exist and he was regularly told he was crazy for
even considering it. Ten year later, Gold has turned his idea into a yearly
event, and his adventure travel company produces similar cycling tours in a
host of other …
Latte Bean To Cup Machine – Roasting Coffee Beans In Your Own Home
There is a brand-new trend arising among coffee fans that is certainly Roasting Coffee Beans in your own home in Coffee Makers . With the rise in stress in the office, you’ll find nothing more relaxing than sitting down to a nice, savoury cup of coffee at home and if you are a coffee lover, you may undoubtedly are in agreement with me. The good thing is, all you need is a coffee roasting machine and you’ll be able to enjoy the whole process inside the comfort of your very own home.
These days, people would rather drink their coffee that’s ensured of its freshness. If you were to purchase the ready packed coffee powder in the supermarkets, you don’t know how long the packets have already been there. On the other hand, if you decide to roast your own private coffee beans in the coffee roasting machine from home, you may ensure you just get fresh beans of the best grade and after roasting the beans, you may grind these with your very own hand grinder or electric grinder for that fine coffee powder.
If you are going to roast your very own coffee beans in the home, you can guarantee the freshness of your coffee by roasting only adequate seeds to last you for one or even two days. How deeply roasted you want your coffee beans to become hinges largely on your individual taste. For a more intense flavor, all you need to do is to roast your espresso beans for a longer period to get a darker color and that is named “French roasting”.
For newbies, you can start with the “stove top” method of Roasting Coffee Beans. What you would need are just some raw coffee beans as well as your regular frying pan. Given that the name of the approach implies, what you ought to do next would be to fry your green coffee beans while in the frying pan. Simply just make sure the pan is at least medium hot fire. You also have to be aware that you fry the beans constantly for around 15 minutes, or else they might become charred in the event you leave them within the pan without stirring.
I think, the best disadvantage of using this process with Coffee Machines UK is that you simply have to stir constantly therefore it may be rather tiring. Furthermore, you also have to ensure that your fire is not too hot also, the frying pan should be first heated up before you decide to add in the seeds. As a result, once you have tried out this home roasting approach and find that you actually do take pleasure in the freshly brewed coffee, you might like to proceed to investing in a coffee roasting machine to make the task easier for you!
