I’m living in Santa Rosa, and I can’t get enough of this Java City coffee that some cafes around here offer. Is there a market that sells it by the bag? I went to their website at http://www.javacity.com but shipping is like eight bucks. Can I get it anywhere else?

Hello – my name is Brett Zugnoni and I’m the Director of Marketing over here at Java City. I’m sorry that you can’t find a closer cafe to purchase our bagged beans. There are a couple of options that might work, however:

1) We currently sell our Eco-Grounds coffees in a 12oz. bags in all NUGGET grocery stores. The closest NUGGET store to you is in Vacaville. NUGGET also owns two Food-4-Less locations that also carry our Eco-Grounds coffees – the closest of which is located in Vallejo.
2) If the Food-4-Less option doesn’t work, I’d give our web option another try. Our UPS rates are driven by weight and start at a minimum weight of 5 pounds or so. That said, the cost of shipping 6 bags of coffee is nearly the same as shipping one bag to your zip code. Also, when you order 6 bags – you get an automatic 10% discount. I just tested our system, and the cost of shipping 6 bags of coffee to (zip code 95401 for example) is only $8.35! And with the 10% discount, the cost of shipping nearly cancels out.

We just finished a substantial project around the eastern end of the Center doing a major drainage issue for a number of stores. The manager was happy. They called us to have a look at several other problems that were there to discover what solutions we can come up with.

The first area was an ATM area in front of US Bank. The Rainwater leader or downspout was clogged since it would drain in to a pipe which was beneath the sidewalk. It runs over to the curb onto the asphalt parking area. The pipe would be clogged with roots over a few years. They attempted to Roto-Rooter it out and that failed to work. Really the only solution was to cut out the entire portion of concrete so wouldn’t look like a patch, repair using a brand-new pipe, and reported concrete to match the present 40-year-old concrete sidewalk. This was only difficult mainly because it was an ATM machine that had constant foot traffic and pedestrians going to it. We needed to create a wood platform to ensure that customers could use the ATM, it was only down for one day once we poured the concrete. We were in and out in two days with this one.

The 2nd area was a courtyard. In this courtyard were several stores. The first and main one was a café which had a lot of pedestrian traffic due to people arriving for coffee and breakfast and snacks. The opposite side of the courtyard had a chiropractor and professional offices therefore it didn’t have the same visitors. On both ends in this courtyard were roof downspouts. Around the northern side by the café we collected the downspout into a new solid pipe ran an underground so couldn’t be seen, and put it up to a disbursement pit.
