..consider ye, the lilies of the field” What think of this beautiful imagery”?
Ref Matt 6:24-33
Luke12:20-32 Do we not need “to smell the coffee” on Global Warming? I have a doggie whom I take walking on the seaside and along the foothills. I marvel at his doggie ways, ever so nature-full; sniff here, sniff there..he does his diggy-dog” routine playfully on the beach…he needs to know nothing about ice ages or the profound demarkation twixt ocean and land.
I think of the chilly March morning and the primroses on the sheltered sunny bank..so far away from fields of war and conflict..whoof! they fliker ,shake and shivver on the piercing breeze and yet he happily sniffs .. I know there is a purpose.. all this incidental take for granted beauty,, Are you moved?
I understand.

Steal A Page From Miami Vice With A South Beach Getaway
South Beach is going to be one of the hottest areas throughout spring-break, with fashionable hotels next to the beach right down to Surfside. It’s got Lincoln Rd, the laid-back commercial avenue that connects the seaside to the rest of the area, home of various shops, boutiques, restaurants and of course cafes. And ofcourse, there is an array of bars directly on the beach, and wild club patrons that can be spotted any day of the week. It’s a unique scene at South Beach because after all the sun tanning and cooling off in the swanky hotel swimming pools, you will be dying to check out the neon clubs.
Around twilight you can make your way to any of the waterfront destinations for a refreshing Mojito, take pleasure in watching the sky merge with the Atlantic ocean, enjoy the cool breeze and seize the parade of hot-tanned guests in addition to locals exhibiting their SoBe fashions. Every place found on Ocean Drive will be great for sipping and of course dining, and there is something for everybody.
South Beach’s dining scene is always alive and well. You can come across hotspots all over the strip offering some of the most posh decors, along with a mix of people enjoying some of the finest fresh seafood and wine in the country.
When you would like a more relaxing chill-out ambiance, go to one of the nightclubs and listen to jazz and bossa nova. For the most part cafes have tiny stages, featuring area performers playing all sorts of Caribbean grooves.
Following your pleasant and cool night, you’ll want to go onto the beach early to enjoy the dawn sunlight while walking on the seashore. You’ll be able to join the physical crowds for a run or a swim. Finally, if you are not a runner, you can still stroll your way to a Cuban coffee shop for a sweet colada. Once you start getting the munchies, go to any of the local resorts for a relaxed al fresco breakfast, where you’ll pick from omelets, cereals along with tropical exotic fruits.
South Beach is home to a lot of stars and celebrities, and therefore it is easy to take a look at their mansions on boat tours, where you can get to see the Mansions of the Rich & Famous on Star Island, Miami Beach and check out the Art Deco region of SoBe from the Atlantic ocean. Merely ask hotel concierge and they can give you all of the details you would like about departure sites, services as well as rates.
One more thing to do in South Beach is going to be driving up A1A. There are lots of stores and pier cafes, you will come across locations to rent fishing poles, and on the weekends you will find free musical entertainment all over.
One of the very fashionable things to do is joining the huge crowds at Lincoln Road pedestrian mall between Alton Road and Washington Avenue. It’s a flourishing neighborhood offering shopping and of course dining. It’s distinctive stores present items only available here. Nearly all dining establishments have al fresco seating within the heart of the pedestrian mall area, and there is a continuous flow of stunningly attractive individuals passing by, wearing the most trendy wardrobe. As you are in the vicinity of South Beach, take into account that there are many alternatives for lodging accommodations, including hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts as well as Bluegreen resort options obtainable from the Bluegreen corporation.
Are you in AWE?
When you taste Strawberries?
When you visit the beach?
When you witness the ocean sounds?
When you climb the mountains?
When trees and greenary provide you peace within?
When you see a mother holding a baby?
When you smell the morning cup of coffee?
When you wear a polite smile and nothing can bring you down?
How everything is dependant on you and how independant you are of anything?
Arent you in awe?
Thanks in advance for answering. Peace be with you!
yes, actually, all these things put me in awe. Except the first, I don’t like strawberries.
Beach- so amazing, the waves and the tides how they just come in and out. And you feel fresh, and might feel a little mist. With your feet in the sand on a nice warm day. Thinking about why God created things like that, must have been to see us happy.
Ocean Sounds- They are so beautiful. I used to listen to them as I would fall asleep when I was a little girl. I love the sound of the waves! : )
Climb mountains- I actually have climbed one before, and it is magnificent! I absolulty love the high you get when you get to the top, and look out, and if you dare move, you fall to your death, or if gravity decides to take control and a rock slips out of place, you could fall to death again too. On that mountain we have to trust God that he will protect us! : )
Trees and greenary: Yes, they provide such peace. I was out on some property last week that was surrounded with rolling hills and beautiful trees, and for that time, I had forgotten all about tomorrow, just about then. All my worries had been forgotten, and I was at peace. I love the fall when the leaves are changing colors and they are falling to the ground. Reminds me of my younger years as I would make leave piles and jump in them during recess with all my friends!
Mother holding a baby- I think it is amazing. How God made our bodies to do such marvelous things as to create a baby that for nine months grows inside, allowing you to feel it kick and move around. Giving you that bubbly feeling inside. How mothers can nurse a child, and how they calm they are resting there. And, how the child can be going crazy and you give it to its momma and the crying instantly stops!
Cup of coffee- I don’t drink it. But, isn’t it amazing that it can change peoples moods! Its wonderful! Especially if you are around someone who needs in order to become “nice”! lol!
Polite smile- don’t you just love it! I love it when people smile but, I love me smiling even more. I used to always get complimented by one certain teacher for my smile. I haven’t seen her in a while, but, Im sure she would say something if and when i see her again. She always would tell me that once she saw my smile, she couldn’t be sad anymore. She counted on my smile everyday. And the few times she didn’t see my smile, she worried, because, it wasn’t like me.
Yes I am in awe!! Hope you like this. I was gonna be your first answer, but, I typed so much… i guess im prolly not.
Butts On Our Beaches
Does anyone really care to see your butts on our beaches?
We are of course referring to cigarette butts. This Saturday we once again joined Surfrider Newport Beach Chapter at their regular Huntington beach clean up ( 4Th Saturday morning of every month from 8-12). We picked up many polystyrene coffee cups and broken plastic lids, just as we did last month. This month however we were made aware of the literally thousands of cigarette butts on the beach. So many that we could hardly make a dent ourselves in an hour picking them up.
Many of the beaches in California are designated Smoke-Free beaches. You can find a list of all smoke-free beaches on the Earth Resources Foundation Website. Huntington Beach (the site of the beach clean up) is on this list and we did not expect to find all these butts. Of course recent rains in Southern California have meant that our streets and gutters have been cleared out and the water has flowed down to the ocean via the watershed, bringing with it the disposed of butts and much more.
Most cigarette butts are made from cellulose acetate and are not biodegradable, only breaking apart over a long period of time, depending on conditions. This time frame can be up to 15 years. The butts therefore cause an unsightly environmental problem for many years before they break up. The butts are also the filters for the cigarettes themselves and therefore contain the left over chemicals from the cigarette. Once they come into contact with water, the butts begin leaching these chemicals, which include cadmium, lead, formaldehyde and arsenic into the water. The butts make their way down through the watershed and end up polluting our oceans and inside the intestines and stomachs of fish, whales, dolphins, birds and the other numerous marine animals.
If you are a smoker, understand that your cigarette butts do not biodegrade and only break apart over a long period of time. They will cause numerous environmental problems. So hold on to your butts. Instead of throwing your butt out on the street or into the gutter, pick up a BUTTsOUT personal ashtray. You can get them at one of the Surfrider beach cleanups.
For us non smokers, let your smoking friends know that their butts end up on our beaches and tell them what they can do about it. Join in at beach cleanups and don’t be afraid to pick up the butts. At most beach cleanups gloves are supplied, so there is no need to touch them with your hands.
Last week Dudley and Melanie were on the Island of Tonga which is in the South Pacific. This is a small country made up of many coral islands. There are no rivers or lakes on the main island of Tongatapu and the only fresh water is rain water, which is collected and stored. On small islands such as these sustainability is very important to a healthy human population. All items must be reused as much as possible. While on the island we visited a local coffee shop to sample the Tongan brew. There are no disposable coffee cups sold here, so we happily enjoyed our drinks in the glass mugs they provided.
Of course there is no reason why we as Americans and Canadians cannot do the same as the Tongans and reuse our coffee mugs and many other things too. Sustainability is important for all countries. We all need to reduce our impact on the environment in whatever way we can.
Start with your coffee mug. Remember to always bring your own when you visit a coffee shop. If you would like to create a personalized coffee mug, you can go to http://www.gogreenmug.com/ and pick one up there. And if you enjoy a smoke with your cup of coffee, remember to hold onto your butts when you are done with the cigarette.
