things to do in Portland, OR?
I’m from the Portland area (40 min away), but my friends and I seem to always have trouble finding things to do! Does anyone know cool things/places that are generally available? I’m usually with people who are over 21, so that’s not a problem–we’re not really into partying hard, but we’re up for almost anything.
I know the main “sites” (Powell’s, the rose garden, mcmenamin’s, the zoo, pittock mansion, sat market, the crystal ballroom, oaks park, multnomah falls, voodoo doughnuts, etc.) and I feel like I’ve hit up the main coffee shops (pied cow, rimsky’s) and restaurants a lot, and we’ve been to some neat bars and a couple clubs (kinda sketch)…what else is there? Is there anything fun that I’m missing out on? Maybe something unusual? Cool parties that aren’t just full of completely wasted people? Etc?

Vancouver has 2 things that are top notch that Portland doesn’t, and they’re both worth checking out.
1.) Big Al’s. It’s a humongous bowling alley, arcade, sports bar. I mean HUGE. I’ve heard their sports bar is the biggest in the northwest.
2) Cinetopia. This is a new approach to movie theaters that I’ve never seen taken before. The rooms are either “Grand Auditorium” or “Living Room”. The seats are all plush leather and recline. In the Living Room side (21+) you can order dinner and drinks from their fine dining restaurant “Vinetopia”. It’s a really cool place. Whenever I really want to see a movie I go there for their High Definition movie screens.
