Choosing A Method Server
In civil court matters, a method server is someone who serves or delivers legal documents, ie. subpeonas, summonses, court orders, varied legal notices and in some cases writs. Method servers normally fall into one of 4 (4) categories:
1. Registered or licensed method servers: In most states, method servers are registered by their county. In some states, like California a method server, once registered in one county will serve papers in any other county within that state. In another states a process server will solely serve papers in the county in which she or he is registered. Most, however not all counties, when registering a process server require the applicant to be bonded or insured.
2. Personal detectives and investigators: In most states non-public detectives and investigators are licensed by the state and exempt from registering as method servers. They and anyone in their employ can serve legal method and when doing so are thought of officers of the court.
3. Sheriffs, Marshals and Constables: Sworn peace officers.
4. Non registered or licensed people: Friends, relatives and others.
In many states as in California a non registered individual could serve up to ten (10) legal documents every year as long as individual isn’t a celebration to the action at hand. ie: a plaintiff or defendant, etc.. When the service of the paper has been completed the server must sign an affidavit {that the} paper was served properly. That affidavit should sometimes be signed below penalty of perjury.
It’s not sometimes a sensible idea to possess a non professional serve process. Licensed personal detectives and investigators can sometimes make the simplest servers, however not all of them serve papers and several believe that since they’re “massive shot” investigators they should charge so much more than registered process servers. Others serve so few papers that they sometimes “build a mountain out of a molehill” and flip a fairly simple service into a troublesome one. Different investigators flip each service into an investigation so as to run up billable hours. Going on vacation by car, but unsure when to leave? I need advice, please.?
I am driving with my two kids (10 and 12) from Philly to Maine for a week long camping trip. (10.5 hours + stops)
I get off work at 6pm.
I am stopping in Boston on the way back overnight for a day for break and a 1 day run through of boston.
Option 1) I could either leave at 7pm, drive for for 5 hours, sleep at a hotel, get up early and drive for another 6 hours . The campsite opens at 12 pm for entrance.
Option 2) I sleep til about 12am and leave at 1am and drive straight through with a stop or two along the way for rest and coffee with the kids sleeping. This option would reduce “potty” stops as well.
I like the idea of driving straight through for traffic and the kids could sleep through it, but 10.5 hours is alot of driving at once.
This is VACATION. You are asking a question about schedules, deadlines, logistics, and routing. That sounds like WORK!
Go home. Go to bed. Get up early enough to beat traffic out of Philly. Take your time, watch the road go by, use the time to be friends with your kids. Plan a one hour lunch stop. Get to the campground in the late afternoon, set up camp, then make a celebration dinner first day in and spend the evening relaxing. Start your activities at the camp the next day.

I am driving with my two kids (10 and 12) from Philly to Maine for a week long camping trip. (10.5 hours + stops)
I get off work at 6pm.
I am stopping in Boston on the way back overnight for a day for break and a 1 day run through of boston.
Option 1) I could either leave at 7pm, drive for for 5 hours, sleep at a hotel, get up early and drive for another 6 hours . The campsite opens at 12 pm for entrance.
Option 2) I sleep til about 12am and leave at 1am and drive straight through with a stop or two along the way for rest and coffee with the kids sleeping. This option would reduce “potty” stops as well.
I like the idea of driving straight through for traffic and the kids could sleep through it, but 10.5 hours is alot of driving at once.
