Holland, the western part of the country the Netherlands is flat, unlike anything I have seen in Australia, to the east the country gets some hills, (still rather low for many people) and still not really like OZ.
Skip the weed, it is not legal (although less illegal compared to other countries) and would not be that different from what is available in your own country (| presume, as I do not use it.)
The Netherlands has very many museums for its size and population number, (and being heavily populated, there are even more museums per square km than in any other country I know of.)
To find those that would be special for you, just google museum and the town you will be in, and your hobby in one go, often somehting pops up. Boats in bottles, handbags, glasses, bikes to name just a few that come to mind.
There are many cities with an old center, almost all with modern suburbs, and some that are very modern all around. Lelystad and Almere have only been build in the last 25 years.
Leiden, Gouda, Delft, Haarlem, Alkmaar, Utrecht, Arhem, Nijmegen and many more are old Dutch cities.
Den Haag, also known as the Hague has never been a walled city and as such has a different flavour.
Rotterdam is an old city that has been bombed flat in WWII and has been build again since, in the popular style of the time.
If you like walking out in Nature, go to one of the National parks, I would recommend one of the Dune ‘reservations’. The sand dunes next to the North sea, from Amsterdam the easiest to reach would be either near Zandvoord or near the Santpoort Noord railway station.
The sand dunes are the defence against the sea, and the first one on the beach is a ‘no go’ do not walk on the dune, but the area beyond it is worth walking.
In other parts of the country the sea defences are Dikes, specially in Zeeland they are famous, but there are more in the country.
Renting a bike and take a tour in the Netherlands is easy, most railway stations in the Netherlands rent out bikes, (have a place that does) and often they also have a route or several available, if maybe not in English.
If you come in spring, April – May, the area around Lisse has many tulip fields and the tour for them is also written in English.
If you like more adventure, Kite surfing, and other kite sports, are available on the beach. Both IJmuiden and Wijk aan Zee have places where it happens. There are more sports done on the beach, specially here as the beach is very wide, almost one km in Wijk aan Zee. And it is very long, stretching most of the countries coastline. But at Wijk aan Zee/IJmuiden it is broken by a canal with its piers, and requires a bit of trekking to get from one end to the other.

Robert Christgau of the Village Voice called it a “perfect record.” Inside a way, I believe Freedy attempted to return to the good quality and mood of Are you able to Fly on his subsequent works, whilst trying to demonstrate his independence from it.As the Silos crumbled, I began playing some reside shows with Freedy Johnston. It was an excellent time to live within the Hoboken, N.J. region. There had been gigs at Maxwell’s and also the Beaten Path. There had been recording sessions at Water Music on Grand Street and rehearsals on 2nd Street. To this day, I can smell steaks broiling from Arthur’s kitchen downtown. Maxwell Residence had a coffee factory uptown on 11th Street and River Road. The smell of roasted coffee beans permeated every single inch of the mile square town. You couldn’t walk down the principle drag, Washington Street, with out bumping into somebody from bands like The Bongos, the db’s, Bob Mould, and Tv. Speaking of Television, my initial gigs with Freedy could be with Television’s bassist, Fred Smith. The other characters will be Mark Zoltak, Bob Rupe, Kevin Salem, Marshall Crenshaw, Jimmy Lee, Jared Nickerson and Graham Maby. Freedy’s project couldn’t have come at a far better time.
