Nika believes the mysterious man who tends his garden with such love deserves to be made immortal. As long as he spends eternity with her.Ares, God of War, was just looking for a little down time. He found a delightful nymph to make his goddess instead. His eyes twinkled with amusement at her words. Again a twinge of doubt assaulted her. She had laced her voice with power, he should have acquiesced immediately. She could almost feel him forcing his body to relax. This shouldn’t be. What manner of man was he? Unfurling her wings, she allowed all the essence of her godhood to bathe the room in a soft, glowing light. No man could withstand the pure beauty of a nymph. “You dare to defy me, mortal? I should fly away and leave you wanting.” “But you won’t, will you, my lovely little nymph?” Nika hesitated, her light dimming slightly. Who was this man? Some by-blow of one of the minor gods? “Show me your true form, Nika.” “I am in my true form.” Frustration laced ever syllable. This should not be. “As you were before, little one. Before you served Gaia’s forests. Show me your true form, love.” Nika’s wings disappeared. Her eyes turned from the leaf green she had worn for so long to deep soulful brown. Green hair was replaced by ropes of braids falling to the small of her coffee colored back. She transformed before she could stop herself. She sat perched on his groin her true self; Nika of Kemet, naked and exposed for his eyes. “You’re glorious.” The whispered words were so full awe that Nika forgot the strangeness of the situation. “More dazzling than any goddess.” She shivered as Ares ran a single fingertip down the valley between her breasts. He sat up, holding her close. “Stay just as you are, Nika the Magnificent.”

Excerpt: The “Word of Wisdom” is the common name of a section of the Doctrine and Covenants, a book considered by many churches within the Latter Day Saint movement to consist of revelations from God. It is also the name of a health code based on this scripture, practiced most strictly by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), and to a lesser extent, some other Latter Day Saint denominations. In the LDS Church, compliance with the Word of Wisdom is currently a prerequisite for baptism, service in missionary work, attendance at church schools, and entry into the church’s temples; however, violation of the code is not considered to be grounds for excommunication or other disciplinary action. The scripture discourages “hot drinks”, the non-medicinal use of tobacco, the consumption of wine (excluding sacramental wine) or “strong drinks”, and the consumption of meat, except sparing use only in time of winter or famine. The scripture also recommends the consumption of herbs, fruits, and grains, as well as grain-based “mild drinks”. As practiced by the LDS Church, there is no firm restriction relating to meat consumption, but there are additional restrictions against narcotics, and all alcoholic beverages are forbidden, including “mild drinks” such as beer. The LDS Church interprets “hot drinks” to mean coffee and tea (except herbal tea). According to Joseph Smith, Jr., the founder of the Latter Day Saint movement, the Word of Wisdom was received in 1833 as a revelation from God. After Smith’s death, Brigham Young stated that the revelation was given in response to problems encountered while conducting meetings in the Smith family home: “When they assembled together in this room after breakfast, the first they did was to light their pi… More:

A Spiritual Journey Through Poetry With Marion Woods

A Spiritual Journey Through Poetry With Marion Woods

$3.99

Maybe once or twice in our lives, God grants us the high honor of meeting someone special-someone who walks so closely with Christ that -for the moment-we are sure that we are walking and talking with our Savior. That is what happened when many years ago God allowed my path to cross that of Marion Woods. From that first encounter, like so many others, I knew that Marion was someone very special. His love of God, his passion and compassion for God’s children were so clearly evident and contagious. From then on, I have treasured each moment God has given us together. I urge our mission team members to “lean in close” to drink in every word Marion has to share with us. Likewise, I spend every free moment sitting as close as I can-drinking in every bit of wisdom, every ounce of inspiration and every drop of laughter.God grants us these rare gems only so often and I thank God for the gift of Marion Woods.Pull up a chair, sip a cup of Costa Rican coffee and be prepared to feel God’s presence as Marion takes you on a walk with the Savior.Rev. Debi knows because for so many years her voice was one of them. If He did hear, did He really care? Yet hers is not a story of defeat, but of victory! Allow Debi to infect you with her zest for life, her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and her passion for helping others as she shares her remarkable story of a life truly redeemed.Debi resides in Athens, Alabama with her husband Harry and daughters Kimberly and Kristin. A Walk Through The Market

A Walk Through The Market

$9.98

What would you say if someone claiming to be an angel sent on assignment showed up one morning, sporting a ponytail and a Krispy Kreme T-shirt and calling you “dude”? Would you recognize him as a messenger of God and let him spend the day preparing you for a special mission? Wyatt, a recent widower still grieving for his wife and estranged son, encounters Mick, a coffee-loving angel in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, and soon, their talk reminds us of long conversations we’ve had with good friends. Fueled by countless cups of coffee, lots of comfort food and their passion for God’s Word, Wyatt and Mick meander through the market, talking about everything from vampires to celebrity worship to whether pets go to heaven. During their lively discourse, Mick helps prepare Wyatt for a specific mission commanded by God. But a demon named Damon, in the form of a man, has other plans for him.Enjoy a cup of coffee with Wyatt and Mick, and then walk with them past Seattle’s famous “flying fish” and along the waterfront as Wyatt learns about good and evil, gets glimpses of what heaven is really like, and takes in the biblical lessons from a version of “The Three Little Pigs” unlike any you’ve ever heard. You’ll see that demons and angels don’t always look, talk, or behave in the way you might expect, and that even “regular dudes” can have a special calling.

Absolute Certainty of Life after Death

THIS IS THE STORY OF TWO MEN. ONE VERY RICH. ONE VERY POOR. THEY BOTH DIED.Most people are intrigued by the subject of life after death. Whether in a classroom, at church, or talking with a friend over a cup of coffee, the same questions are asked over and over again…”What happens the moment you die?”"Where do we go?”"Will we see our loved ones in heaven?”"Do dead people know what’s going on here on earth?”"How can a loving and merciful God send people to hell?”Author Don Wilton looks at these questions and more in The Absolute Certainty of Life after Death, a modern retelling of the Biblical story of the rich man and Lazarus. This compelling story chronicles that choices and fate of two very different, but ordinary men. Set in Texas and New Orleans, this fictional story traces the contrasting lives of Albright A. Rhodes, a multi-millionaire and Billy Bob Malkmus, a homeless beggar, from birth to death….and beyond.

 An Italian Journey

An Italian Journey

First published in France in 1954, Jean Giono’s tale describes his journey to the land whence his father’s people came. A most reluctant traveler, Giono nonetheless discovers a strange beauty not only in such traditional sights as the palazzos and canals of Venice but in people and objects usually ignored or forgotten: wistful waiters, suspicious hair dressers, pugnacious men of God, recalcitrant coffee machines, telescopic umbrellas, and abandoned field machinery. Giono’s world is one where a street gathering that seems to verge on revolution is in reality a stamp collector’s market, and where inept municipal musicians can suddenly offer Mozartian joys.An Italian Journey is also a meditation on the author’s development and a manual on how to achieve happiness. Giono is conscious of Italy’s obvious beauties — the fine monuments, the lyrical landscapes — but his gift is apprehending the joys squeezed from the dark side of life — from dull skies, grim facades, muddy fields, and the tedium of the autostrada. Laden with anecdote and history as well as the author’s exploration of self, An Italian Journey is a masterpiece of travel literature.

At Heaven's Gate: Reflections on Leading Worship

At Heaven’s Gate: Reflections on Leading Worship

$14.99

Worship can be a duty rather than a joy, a gathering of the likeminded rather than an encounter with the living God. For those who lead worship, the liturgy can be reduced to a steady progression through a service book, instead of a drawing forth of gifts and ministries from an expectant assembly engaged in an enterprise that joins earth to heaven. This book attempts to answer the question ‘What makes really good worship?’ by examining the chief components of worship, that engages, inspires and transforms. It recalls us to the wonder of worship, and reminds us that when the people of God gather, we come to the very gate of heaven, touching the eternal mystery. How does a visit to the local gate of heaven appear to many people today? Is the welcome warm and genuine? Is there a sense of expectancy? Do the surroundings speak of transcendence or are they full of clutter? Is every minute taken up with words and music or are there spaces when we can listen for God? Is the coffee afterwards worth staying for? Here are simple and good ideas for making worship the transformative experience it should be.

Donny Deutsch’s hit CNBC show The Big Idea has put the spotlight on that ordinary moment and the people who have the courage and stamina to make their dreams come true. Some people think a big idea is like a lightning bolt striking out of the blue that slams you in the head. But it’s hardly ever like that. The big idea isn’t an act of God. It’s an act of daily life. Simply put, the idea that will make millions starts with an observation.A carpenter gets tired of almost losing a finger every time he slices a bagel. Bam! The Bagel Guillotine. A mother is frustrated that her pantry is full of stale food because the packages don’t close. Bam! Quick Seals. Howard Schultz notices on a trip to Italy that there are coffee bars on almost every corner. Bam! Starbucks. None of them had a barrel of cash. None of them had a ton of experience. They had a big idea and the will to follow through. In The Big Idea, Deutsch draws not only on his own tremendous focus…
