Folsom Prison Blues

Folsom Prison Blues

$97.19

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Folsom Prison Blues is an American country music song credited to Johnny Cash. The song combines elements from two popular folk genres, the train song and the prison song, both of which Cash would continue to use for the rest of his career. It has become one of Cashs signature songs. In the lyrics, the jailed protagonist listens to the whistle of a train outside his cell and recounts his crimes ( I shot a man in Reno/just to watch him die ), imagines the free people inside the train ( Theyre probably drinking coffee and smoking big cigars ) and dreams of what he would do if he were free. I know I had it coming/I know I cant be free, sings the imprisoned man. But those people keep amoving/and thats what tortures me. Cash was inspired to write this song after seeing the movie Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison (1951) while serving in West Germany in the United States Air Force. Cash recounted how he came up with the Reno line: I sat with my pen in my hand, trying to think up the worst reason a person could have for killing another person, and thats what came to mind. Where do people hang out?? Sacramento Area-Malls, squares, parks etc.?

the weather is getting very nice and warm and i ‘m an outdoors type of person. Unfortunately here in sacramento there’s not many places to go and be outdoors (except starbucks!) where do (young) people go in this area? i’ve been to benicia where they have a street by the water with different shops and restaurants where people walk, also in concord there’s this shopping area-square where you see a lot of people but what about the sacramento area? the only place i can thing of is are the outlets in folsom but event those are pretty quiet and sad…
so where would you advice me to go to shop, have coffee, walk around etc other than old sac?

My friends and I take the light rale to downtown mall and we walk from there to old sacramento. The river is fun to. Also take the lightrail to downtown/midtown and there are a million botiques and coffe shops.

Take a Closer Look at Your Smoke Detectors

Most homes in the United States have smoke detectors in them. However, if you take a closer look, you may be shocked. A great deal of these life saving alarms are not working, as there are no batteries inside of them. Here is important information that can save your life, and the lives of your family.

Batteries are Cheap

Many people remove the batteries when they burn something on the stove. However, they often forget to replace them. Also, when batteries get low, the alarm makes a beeping noise that will drive you up the wall. A lot of people take the old batteries out to keep from throwing something at the smoke alarm, but they forget to buy some more. Batteries are cheap, but lives are not.

Testing Your Alarm

You should test your smoke alarms at least once every month. This will let you know if someone has removed the batteries. It will also let you know if it is time to buy a new alarm. These things do not last forever, and they eventually have to be replaced. New ones are not expensive, and there is no excuse not to replace dead smoke alarms. However, they contain radioactive materials and must be disposed of in the proper manner. Contact your local trash removal service for disposal information.

One May Not Be Enough

There are several reasons to have more than one smoke detector in the home. Most fires happen in the wee hours of the morning. This means that you may be in bed. Smoke alarms need to be near bedrooms, and many houses are set up with the master bedroom apart from the others. It is important to have an alarm near each bedroom area, so they can be heard.

If your home is on more than one level, you need an alarm on each level. This includes finished basements. These alarms are not expensive and they are very easy to install.

Back to Batteries

Batteries for your alarms are not going to break your budget. You probably spend more on coffee or lottery tickets. If you have smoke alarms in your home without batteries, you are taking a chance like the lottery. However, if you lose, you will not see the sunrise tomorrow.

Summing it Up

Many homes in America are protected by smoke detectors. However, a lot of those alarms are inactive due to lack of power. Perhaps someone has taken the batteries out and neglected to replace them. It is of the utmost importance to test your smoke alarms today. Maybe they need batteries, or they need to be replaced. Follow these tips as if your life depends on, because, it does.
