Bit Of Fry & Laurie: Seasons 1 and 2 (Full Frame) $15.96 “Season 1″: Only a handful of creative works succeed in capturing the totality of human existence, from birth to death, through love, transfiguration and redemption. “A Bit Of Fry And Laurie,” The BBC Television series co-starring Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, has been said, on two occasions, to be among this group. Over 40 sketches in two programs of fun and frivolity. “Season 2″: Before Hugh Laurie was “House”, before Stephen Fry was “Wilde”, even before they were “Jeeves & Wooster”, Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie wrote and starred in their own inimitable sketch comedy series on the BBC. Witty and urbane, Fry and Laurie lampoon an endless array of targets with a delicious turn of phrase and elaborate wordplay. Absurdities abound as they devise new swearwords not yet banned for broadcast, and Fry impersonates Michael Jackson. Posh chat show “Dinner with Digby” deteriorates from witty banter on Venice – Jeremy: “The Queen of the Adriatic!” Digby: “Is only one of the things you’ve been called.” – into a paean to the infinite variety of “Marks & Spencer”. Catch such “Fry & Laurie” favorites as the profane cliche-slingers John and Peter, international gunrunner and man of mystery Alan, and insipid MI5 agent Tony Murchison and his coffee-obsessed boss Control. “Footlights: 100 Years Of Comedy” – 56 Minute Documentary Featuring Early Fry & Laurie Material. Subtitles: English SDH (Subtitles for Deaf and Hearing Impaired). |

Glenn Tilbrook/One For the Road $19.99 Glenn Tilbrook: One For The Road is the perfect film for dreamers, music fans and open road enthusiasts everywhere!Ever wondered what it would be like to go on a cross-country tour with a rock star? Filmmaker Amy Pickard did and made a movie about it. Expecting 18-wheelers and five star hotels, she found Glenn Tilbrook, the former lead singer of Squeeze, touring in a mobile home and bedding down in roadside campgrounds. This charming documentary follows Tilbrook on every step of his first solo tour of America in his beloved — but not so reliable — home on wheels. From the search for his missing RV; adventures with engine repair and exploding generators, to a musical house call that one fan will never forget: All access, all of the time. It’s the story of how an established artist adjusts to his independent surroundings. It’s a commentary on the current state of the music industry. But, most importantly, it’s a human-interest story that transcends its musical base.Includes exclusive live acoustic performances of Squeeze hits Tempted, Black Coffee In Bed, Take Me I’m Yours, Up the Junction, Hourglass and more! |

Inmigrante (Spanish) (Widescreen) $5 Eusebio de Haro Espinosa was a young man from Mexico who slipped over the U.S. border into Texas and was desperate for a drink of water when he happened upon the home of Samuel Blackwood. Later the same day, seventy-year-old Blackwood shot and killed Espinosa; some reports say Blackwood and his wife were chasing the young man in their car when he was killed, while Blackwood’s friends and family insist the death was the result of an accident. When Blackwood’s case came to trial, it was discovered that part of his initial indictment paperwork had gone missing — including a key passage concerning weapons — and eventually the elderly man was released with a suspended sentence, while Espinosa’s family insist racism is to blame for their son’s death and the failure to bring Blackwood to justice. Filmmakers John Sheedy, David Eckenrode and John Eckenrode examine the Eusebio de Haro Espinosa case in El Inmigrante, a documentary which focuses on the realities of illegal immigration in America — overworked border guards who feel more compassion than anger towards their charges, amateur vigilantes who discuss their fears of who may be coming into America, and Espinosa’s family in Mexico who talk about the young man’s death and what prompted him to leave his home. El Inmigrante was screened as part of the 2006 New York Latino Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide. “Narcoleptic Druken Daydreams” a 9-minute Featurette From Outtakes Covering Two Stories on the Border, “Just Coffee” Featurette, “The De Haro’s View the Film” Featurette, Photo Gallery, Poster Progression Gallery, Brief History of the Border, Spanish & English Subtitles, 16:9 Widescreen. |

Modern Marvels: Coffee (Full Frame) $13.96 Coffee is the world’s most popular beverage, but many who drink it fail to realize just what goes into making a decent cup of java, or the just what it takes to get those delicious little beans into our cups so we can start the day off right. In this documentary the filmmakers at Modern Marvels look back 1000 years to Ethiopia to explore the origin of coffee, and reveal how companies like Maxwell House and Hills Brothers helped turn the caffeinated pick-me-up into a thriving American industry. Along the way, viewers discover the secret to brewing up the perfect cup. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide. |

Natural Visions: The Power of Images in American Environmental Reform $42.5 Walden Pond. The Grand Canyon. Yosemite National Park. Throughout the twentieth century, photographers and filmmakers created unforgettable images of these and other American natural treasures. Many of these images continue to occupy a prominent place in the American imagination. Making these representations, though, was more than a purely aesthetic project. In fact, portraying majestic scenes and threatened places galvanized concern for the environment and its protection. Natural Visions documents through images the history of environmental reform from the Progressive era to the first Earth Day celebration in 1970, showing the crucial role the camera played in the development of the conservation movement.                     In Natural Visions, Finis Dunaway tells the story of how visual imagery—such as wilderness photographs, New Deal documentary films, and Sierra Club coffee table books—shaped modern perceptions of the natural world. By examining the relationship between the camera and environmental politics through detailed studies of key artists and activists, Dunaway captures the emotional and spiritual meaning that became associated with the American landscape. Throughout the book, he reveals how photographers and filmmakers adapted longstanding traditions in American culture—the Puritan jeremiad, the romantic sublime, and the frontier myth—to literally picture nature as a place of grace for the individual and the nation. Beautifully illustrated with photographs by Ansel Adams, Eliot Porter, and a host of other artists, Natural Visions will appeal to a wide range of readers interested in American cultural history, the visual arts, and environmentalism.  |

Neighbourhoods Of Bangkok $19.99 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher’s book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Chapters: Patpong, Siam Area, Wongwian Yai, Ratchaprasong, Khaosan Road, Sam Yan, Saphan Khwai, Nana Plaza, Phahurat, Siriraj Sub-District, Yaowarat Road, si Lom, Clinton Plaza, Lumphini, si Phraya Pier, Tha Phrachan. Excerpt: Clinton Plaza was a thriving but short-lived nightlife district in Bangkok , Thailand , located on Sukhumvit Road between Soi 13 and Soi 15. Its location was excellent, being midway between the Nana Entertainment Plaza to the west and the Soi Cowboy nightlife area to the east. The plaza, the brainchild of a Dutchman and an American, began as a collection of beer bars in 1998. The following year it was named after then U.S. president Bill Clinton , and a number of lively go-go bars appeared in 2000. Many of the names were tongue in cheek jabs at the president, including Monica Beer Bar , Bill’s Coffee House and the White House . In 2001 the Interior Minister of Thailand, Purachai Piumsombun, began a campaign to enforce his somewhat puritanical ideas of social order. Closing hours for all bars and nightclubs were cut back to 1 am and “naughty shows” were definitely frowned on. The shortened hours, combined with contractual disputes related to redevelopment plans, led to the complete shut down of the bar area by May 2003. The existing structures were razed and a hotel has since been built on the location. The Clinton Plaza bars Checkpoint Charlie and Hollywood-a-Go-Go appear in Jordan Clark’s 2005 documentary Falang: Behind Bangkok’s Smile which takes a rather critical view of sex tourism in Thailand.References (URLs online) Websites (URLs online) A hyperlinked version of this chapter is at Khaosan Road or Khao Sarn Road (Thai : ) is a short street in central Bangkok , Thailand . But there’s a tuition check attached to being on the show, and Jesse needs the cash so she can be the first in her family to attend college. All she has to do is trade her best friend for the glam clique she’s studiously avoided, her privacy for a 24/7 mike, and her sense of right and wrong for “”what sells on camera.”" . . . Secret to Staying Fit and Young at Age 70 by Mamiko Ito
When running your own business, you need a lot of stamina and energy. It is not like working for a regular Job. For example, when you wake up with a bad headache from the previous night’s party, you could just call in for a sick day. But if you are your own boss, not being in the best condition could cost you and your business a lot of money; especially when you have an important meeting or speaking event on that day.
Changing your eating habit is the best anti-aging tips. Your body, skin and health are direct reflection of your diet. If you want to stay young, healthy and energetic, eat energy-rich food such as fresh organic vegetables and fruits. Processed food, canned food and meat are dead food filled with chemicals, high sodium, growth hormone and antibiotics, and they slowly kill our body. Watch Paul McCartney’s video below to know the dirty secret behind the curtain. No wonder more and more diseases, obesity, cancer, crime and violence are on the rise and affecting more people around us.
About two years ago I made a significant change in my diet and it completely changed my life. Now I have more energy and I don’t need to worry about my weight. My skin is in great condition and I don’t need to use expensive cosmetics. I used to catch cold quite easily, but now I hardly fall sick, and even if I do get sick, I recover fairly quickly. What is the secret? Well one of the biggest changes I made was to stop eating meat and dairy products. After I watched a documentary about how farm animals are treated and how destructive it is to our eco-system as well as our body to maintain a meat and dairy-based diet, I decided to change my eating habits, and I have never regretted my decision. I’m proud of myself for opting for sustainable lifestyle and I become healthy as a result.
A couple of years ago, I’ve got to know an amazing woman named Mimi Kirk from San Diego. She was selected as the sexiest vegetarian woman above 50 at age 70! She is a gorgeous and lovely woman with a beautiful spirit, and the secret on her health and longevity is a raw food diet.
