From the time that you get up in the morning to the time that you make your evening meal, your kitchen needs to be a well oiled machine that can meet the needs of a hungry family or a hungry you!

So let’s get going with project declutter kitchen. The sooner we organize our kitchen, the sooner we can whip up a tasty meal in our new found kitchen.

Store things in the right location

By that I mean, you need to store things in the most efficient place possible. If you use an item regularly, it’s best to store it in a cupboard that is easy to access. Leave the higher cupboards for storing items that you only need to access infrequently.

Store the same group of items in one cupboard

If you store things logically by use, then it will be easier to locate things. I like having one cupboard for cooking utensils and a separate cupboard for cleaning items. And so forth and so forth. You get the picture.

Get rid of unnecessary duplicate items

Got three coffee makers? It’s probably likely that you don’t need all three of your coffee makers. Just keep one and throw away the rest.

Get rid of old items

If you have had that old toaster for ten years and it’s looking a wee bit crusty, pardon the pun, it may be time to replace it with a new toaster.

Kitchen Gadgets

Kitchen gadgets are a likely culprit for causing clutter in your kitchen. If you are have too many gadgets breeding in your kitchen cupboards, and you don’t use them regularly enough to warrant keeping them, it may be time to find them a useful home elsewhere.

Keep the kitchen benchtop clear

It’s hard to do but the kitchen benchtop is the number one place where clutter will accumulate. Have a goal to keep your benchtop clutter free. In order to do this well, only keep items on the benchtop that you use regularly. For some people, this may mean keeping a couple of essential items like the toaster and coffee make on your benchtop. For others, even though you use these items once or twice a day, some people prefer to store them away to reduce clutter. It’s really your own personal choice of what works best for you.

We are pretty much nearing the end of our declutter kitchen session, so there is always plenty of decluttering that you can do in the kitchen to spruce it up.
